Timewar
Timewar is TokenXGames' precision-timing duel. There's no board, no dice, and no luck to blame — just a shared clock and your sense of when to stop it.
How to Play
Before each round, a target time is shown to both players. A single shared clock then starts running for both of you at the same moment.
Each player taps Stop on their own screen whenever they choose — you don't see your opponent's stop until both of you have locked yours in. Whoever's stop time is closest to the target wins the round.
Matches are played over multiple rounds, shown on screen as a running round count (for example, round 2 of a set total), rather than a single one-off round.
Modes Available
- Play Bot (Free) — practice the shared-clock timing mechanic against an AI opponent with no Coins on the line.
- Online (PvP) — matched automatically against another available player for a real-stakes match.
- Play With Friends — create a private room and invite a specific friend directly.
Match Details
In Bot mode, the AI opponent goes through visible states — waiting, thinking, playing, and stopped — before the round result is shown, so you can watch the bot's timing the same way you'd watch a real opponent's. In Online and Friends matches, the round only starts once both sides are ready, and your opponent's stop time stays hidden until both players have locked theirs in.
A running score tracks how many rounds each player has won so far, shown beside the round counter. A short 3-2-1 countdown plays before each round starts so both players begin watching the clock at the same instant, and the target time is always shown to two decimal places for precision.
You can back out of an active match through the exit button, which asks for confirmation before quitting — closing the game or disconnecting mid-match is covered by the same leaving/disconnecting policy that applies across TokenXGames; see the Rules page for the full policy.
Staking & Payout
Online and Friend-room matches use Coin stakes selected before the round starts. Getting Started
- Open TokenXGames in Telegram and sign in with your Telegram account.
- Open Timewar from the games list.
- Pick a mode — Play Bot to practice for free, Online to be matched with a real opponent, or Play With Friends to invite someone directly.
- If you're staking Coins, confirm your bet before the round starts.
- Watch the shared clock and tap Stop as close to the target time as you can.
Because the target time and the shared clock work identically in Bot mode and in real matches, practicing against the bot builds the same timing sense you'll use once you move to Online or Friends matches.
Strategy Tips
Because you never see your opponent's stop until both of you have locked yours in, guessing when they'll stop is pointless — the only thing you can actually control is your own read of the target time against the clock in front of you.
Watch the target time's two decimal places closely — a round decided by hundredths of a second rewards players who treat the clock as a precise number to land on, not just a general moment to react to.
Play Bot mode to build a feel for your own reaction lag before wagering Coins — the shared-clock mechanic works identically against the bot as it does in a real match, so the timing sense you build there carries over directly.
Across a multi-round match, a single bad stop early on isn't fatal — the running round score is what decides the match, so staying composed after a missed round matters more than any one stop.
